Four ways to hand it a bet

Bet Check is at /bet-check, and it needs you signed in — the readers refuse anonymous calls.

• ●Upload a screenshot. Click the dropzone to pick a bet-slip image, or tap Scan a screenshot for your camera roll — pasting one with ⌘V works too. Send a bet slip screenshot to Bet Check has the formats it reads, the phone share-sheet shortcut, and what to do when a scan fails.
• ●Paste or type it. Paste text takes anything from Celtics -3.5 -110 to a whole copied slip.
• ●Speak it. The Speak button appears when your browser supports dictation and feeds into the same text reader.
• ●Try a sample. It grades a real bet off the live board so you can see the output first.

On desktop, P pastes, V starts voice, S runs the sample, N starts over, and Enter fires the main button on a result.

What happens when you submit

   We read the bet

   The image or text becomes structured fields — teams, market, line, your offered price, and the sportsbook if the slip names one.

   We match it to the live board

   If more than one market fits, you get a confirm step listing the closest candidates instead of a guess. When other markets matched too, the result carries a Change bet link back to them.

3. 3

   We price it against the fair line

   The fair price is the no-vig benchmark for that exact market and line, labelled with its source — a sharp book, or an average of several. Devigging explained has the arithmetic.

4. 4

   You get a verdict

   A headline, one plain sentence, a badge, the edge, and what a stake pays at your price versus the best one.

Why it asks which sportsbook

Your edge is the gap between the fair price and the price you can actually get, so the verdict is scored at your book, not the best book on the board. If the slip names a book we use it; otherwise the result opens on Which sportsbook is this bet from?, listing books that hold that line first.

Two states deliberately show no badge and no edge: Found it — which book? before you pick, and No live price there. when your book is not posting that exact line. The best book’s number there would flatter a bet you cannot place. Compare the other books, or type your own odds into the custom-odds field.

Reading the verdict

The badge is the same ladder the bet feed uses — see Bet badges explained:

Below it sit Your price, Fair price and Best price, and All books opens every price we hold for that line. The main button opens the sportsbook and moves DawBets to a confirmation screen — it assumes you placed the bet, it cannot see your slip.

Custom odds and the suggested stake

The custom-odds field takes an American price of your own — a boost, a promo, a price you already locked in — and recomputes the edge, badge and payout against the same fair price.

The stake beside it is Kelly-sized from the bankroll, risk tolerance and rounding preference in Settings, with the usual player-prop reduction. It is an editable field, not an instruction — see How we size your wager.

Parlays get one combined verdict

A slip with two or more legs is priced leg by leg, then combined: each leg shows its own price and edge, and the top of the screen carries the combined odds, fair odds and edge at the book you picked.

Legs we could not price are listed under the verdict and excluded from the combined number, not dropped quietly. If the text reader sees more legs than it can parse, it refuses to price the fragment and asks you to type the bets in.

Plans, and where history lives

The edge figure and the Kelly stake are stripped for free readers, exactly as in the feed; the verdict and badge still come through. Track, which files the bet into My Bets, is Plus and above.

Recent checks are kept in that browser, on that device only. Reopening one is flagged Saved check — prices may have moved since. with a Re-check button that reprices it live.
