How the Bet Feed works

Quick answer

The Bet Feed is one list of individual bets from every sportsbook we cover, ordered strictly by expected value — the size of the pricing edge — with the biggest edge at the top. The order says nothing about which bet is most likely to win, and nothing about recency, popularity or league changes it.

What the Bet Feed is

The Bet Feed is a single ranked list of individual bets. Each card is one selection, at one sportsbook, at one price — something you could place right now. It is not a tipsheet or a list of parlays; you build parlays out of the feed by tapping Parlay on a card.

How the order is decided

Strictly by expected value, highest first. Expected value (EV) is the gap between the price a book offers and what we calculate the bet is really worth once the sharp market’s margin is stripped out. Nothing else moves a bet up or down — not recency, popularity or league. A paid feed sets no floor at zero, so bets whose edge has gone negative are not removed; they sort to the bottom.

A high EV is not a likely winner

Ranking by edge means big underdogs sit at the top of the feed regularly. An edge pays off across hundreds of bets, not one afternoon, and it is never income. Sports betting is 21+ — see our responsible-gambling resources.

Two things are held back on purpose. Any edge above a sanity ceiling is dropped, because an edge that large is nearly always a stale price rather than free money — Expected value and fair price explains why. And the feed defaults to games that have not started:

  • Upcoming — pre-game only. The default, and available to every signed-in plan.
  • Live — in-progress games only. Pro.
  • All — both at once. Pro.

What a card in the feed carries

The matchup and start time, the selection and its market, a badge, the EV% and the Fair price beside it, the book and price we point you at, a suggested stake, and the buttons through to the sportsbook. Reading a bet card takes every one of those numbers in turn.

One of those numbers depends on your plan. Free and signed-out feeds keep the EV% on the top card only and hide it on every other one — tapping a hidden figure opens the upgrade prompt, or the sign-up gate if you are signed out. Fair stays on every card at every tier, so you can always compare a book’s price against it yourself. Why your feed says delayed covers the rest of what is capped.

One thing is specific to the feed: every card here carries a badge, because the feed only asks for bets we were able to price. An unbadged quote — one we carry for cross-book comparison and never scored — never reaches this list. What the badges mean is in Bet badges explained.

Tapping the price row opens a sheet listing every book that has the bet, best price first, with the cost of settling for second best written out on each row below the top — the full sheet is covered in Compare odds across sportsbooks.

How fresh the prices are

Every bet has a hard freshness floor: if our odds worker has not re-read that row recently enough, it is not shown at all. Plus and Pro feeds refresh the moment the board changes, with a periodic forced refresh as a backstop. When a price or badge moves, the card flashes green or red and prints the change ("+150 → +135").

Free and signed-out feeds are served a previous snapshot instead, so you see prices after they have already moved. Refreshing more often does not make them newer, and each client says so in its own way — Why your feed says delayed covers both the reason and the signal to look for.

What an empty or short feed means

What you seeWhat it meansWhat to do
No +EV bets right nowThe board is fine; nothing on it is mispriced right now.Nothing to fix — the board turns over constantly.
No bets match your filtersThere are bets; your filters exclude all of them.Tap Adjust filters, or drop a league or book.
All bets hiddenYou have hidden every bet currently loaded.Tap Show all on the "hidden" line above the list.
Fetching the latest dataWe could not confirm the odds are live, so we show nothing rather than old prices.Leave it open — it retries itself — or press Retry.

A short list can also be your plan. Paid feeds load more as you scroll; Free and signed-out feeds get a fixed short list with paging off, plus a card under the last bet saying how many more currently match. See Plans and what each one includes.

Common questions

Is the feed sorted by how likely the bet is to win?

No. It is sorted by expected value — the size of the pricing edge — highest first. A bet at the top can be a heavy underdog. The order is a statement about the price, never a prediction about the result.

How often do the odds update?

Plus and Pro feeds refresh as soon as the board changes, with a periodic forced refresh as a backstop. Free and signed-out feeds are served a previous snapshot, so prices arrive after they have moved.

What do the numbers on a bet card mean?

Every one of them describes a price you can get right now, not a prediction about the result. [Reading a bet card](/help/reading-a-bet-card) takes them one at a time.

Why did a bet disappear from my feed?

Usually the game started (the feed defaults to upcoming only), the price stopped being fresh enough to serve, it slid down the ranking, or it was hidden — manually, or by auto-hide after you visited that book. [Why a price moved or vanished](/help/why-a-price-moved-or-vanished) works through the rest.

The feed will not load at all — is it my account?

No. "Fetching the latest data" means we could not vouch for the odds being live, so we deliberately show nothing rather than stale prices. It retries on its own; you can also press Retry. Filters and plan have nothing to do with it.
