Why a tracked bet is still open

Your bet is fine — this is a record-keeping problem

A tracked bet that still says OPEN after the final whistle means DawBets could not read a result for it. It does not mean the bet lost, and it changes nothing at your sportsbook — they graded it on their own schedule, and paid out if it won. The only thing behind is our copy of the record.

DawBets never places bets and never holds your money. Everything on My Bets is a record of something you did at a book, so a stuck row costs you accuracy in your stats and nothing else.

Why a bet stays on OPEN

Grading is automatic: a background job re-checks open bets whose start time has passed, and loading My Bets pushes a batch of your own straight bets through the grader before the page is drawn. A bet only stalls for one of these reasons.

• ●The game genuinely is not over. While an event is in progress the grading feed answers "not decided yet". That is normal, costs the bet nothing, and it is re-checked on the next pass.
• ●The grading feed cannot find your bet. A short list of rejections are permanent — waiting does not fix them, and those are what eventually strand a bet.
• ●The game was postponed, cancelled or abandoned. DawBets keeps asking until a wall-clock deadline measured from the scheduled start, then stops rather than polling an event that will never finalise. The bet stays OPEN.
• ●A parlay is parked for a person. A same-game parlay with a voided leg and more than one surviving leg is held back on purpose, because re-pricing it means reproducing the book’s own correlation model.

What "cannot find your bet" actually means

The grader rejects a request with one of a short list of messages. You never see these words in the app — they are what our logs record:

Each of those burns one try, the player grace above aside. A failing bet is retried a fixed number of times and then dropped from the settlement queue for good. Nothing in the app tells you that happened — the card just keeps saying OPEN, with no error, no icon and no warning. Rate limits and server errors on the grader’s side count as temporary, not as a rejection.

What a stuck bet does to your numbers

A stuck bet is never counted against you, but it is left out of your totals entirely — a different problem:

• ●Profit and ROI are computed over settled bets only, so a stuck winner is invisible to both.
• ●The cumulative-profit chart never moves for it, and it is missing from the League, Sportsbook and Market breakdown.
• ●It sits in the Open tile on My Bets and never reaches Settled.
• ●It is excluded from your closing-line-value sample, so the Beat close record is drawn from a slightly smaller set of bets.

So the record is incomplete rather than wrong: the bet is missing from both sides of every figure until someone settles it, and which way it moves them depends on how the bet actually went. What My Bets shows explains how each figure is built.

What to do about it

   Give it until the next day

   A game the grader is still calling undecided costs nothing to wait on — that answer never spends a retry. Postponed events in particular are still being retried for a while after the scheduled start.

   Open My Bets once

   Loading My Bets runs a settlement pass over your own open straight bets before the list is returned, so a visit is the fastest thing you can do yourself. A bet that has already used up its retries is skipped by that pass, so refreshing again will not reach it.

   Email support with the details

   Write to team@dawbets.com with the selection, the sportsbook, the game and the date. Contact support lists what to include so we can find the row first time.

What happens at our end

Stuck bets are recovered by a sweep we run against the grading feed. It collects every bet that used up its retries on a previous day, asks the grader again — plenty of games finalise after the automatic retries run out — and settles only the ones that come back with a clear verdict. Anything ambiguous goes to a person instead of being guessed at.

Parlays parked for review land in the same queue. Guessing what a book paid on a same-game parlay with a voided leg would write a made-up number into your real profit and loss.
