How your bets get graded and settled

You do not settle bets yourself

Every bet you track is graded automatically. Once its scheduled start time has passed, the bet enters a settlement queue, an independent grading feed is asked for the result, and the card on My Bets changes from OPEN to WON, LOST or PUSH with the payout written in. Nothing on the website or the iPhone app lets you mark a bet won or lost, or edit or delete one afterwards.

When grading starts

   The scheduled start passes

   Nothing is graded before then — a bet on tomorrow’s game is not in the queue yet.

2. 2

   The settlement job picks it up

   It runs around the clock, oldest event first, and grades a larger batch through the US evening when most games finish. A deep queue settles bets late; it never drops them.

3. 3

   The grader answers

   Win, Lose and Push are final. Pending means the market is not decided yet, so the bet is simply re-checked on the next pass.

4. 4

   Your card updates

   Status, payout and settled date are written together, once. A settled bet is never re-graded.

Opening My Bets also runs an extra pass over a capped number of your own open straight bets, so it can settle something the scheduled job has not reached; parlays are not part of that shortcut. Markets that finish before the game does — first-half lines, first-quarter totals — settle as soon as that market is decided.

What each result pays

A push covers both a tie against the number and a bet the book voided. It is not a loss: the pill reads PUSH and the amount shows as a refund.

• ●Profit Boost. If you flagged a boost when tracking, the payout comes from the boosted price.
• ●Commission. At books that charge one, the payout is net of the fee — off winnings only, never off a returned stake.
• ●That rate is frozen when you track. If the book changes its commission later, your settled history is not re-priced.
• ●Everything is in whole dollars. A free bet’s stake never counts as money wagered, which is why free bets lift ROI. See What My Bets shows.

How parlays settle

A parlay is never graded as one thing. Each leg is graded on its own and the ticket is then recalculated from its legs. Tracking and settling boosted parlays walks a boosted ticket through the same path.

• ●One losing leg settles the whole ticket as lost, immediately. The other legs are never graded, because nothing they do can change the outcome; they read No result. The parlay was already decided. Your slip at the book behaves the same way.
• ●Every leg voided: the parlay refunds.
• ●Some legs win, some void: a standard parlay is re-priced from the surviving legs’ own odds.
• ●A same-game parlay with a void and more than one leg left goes to a person instead — books re-price an SGP through their own correlation model and we will not guess at it, so the ticket stays OPEN until someone settles it. A lone survivor is the exception: it just pays its own price.

When a bet just stays open

Grading can fail for good — the feed does not recognise the event, the market or the player. After several failed attempts the bet leaves the queue and keeps reading OPEN, with no error shown. Postponed and abandoned games end up the same way. Nothing in the app will move them, so Bets that stay open tells you what to send us.

What DawBets will not do

• ●Invent a result. If the grader cannot decide, the bet stays open rather than being guessed at.
• ●Re-grade or re-price. Settlement is written once, and changing your bankroll or risk tolerance never restates a settled bet.
• ●Pay you. Your money sits at your sportsbook. My Bets is a record, not a wallet.
