The “You’re leaving DawBets” screen

What this screen is

You got here through a DawBets link that points at a sportsbook — in practice, a link the Claude connector produced when it found you a price. The connector never hands Claude a raw sportsbook address. It hands out a dawbets.com/go link instead, DawBets works out the real destination when you open it, and this page is where the handoff happens.

You will not see it inside DawBets itself. Tapping a book on a bet card in the feed opens that book directly. The notice exists for links that travel — pasted into a chat, saved for later, or opened by someone who has no DawBets account at all.

What it shows, and what it never shows

• ●The sportsbook you are about to open, named on the Continue button.
• ●The matchup and the market, when DawBets can still match the link to a live odds row.
• ●A 21+ line and the 1-800-GAMBLER helpline.
• ●Nothing about price, fair odds or expected value. That is deliberate: the page is public, so a link you forward shows the other person where they are going and nothing that belongs to your plan.

What Continue actually opens

The sportsbook’s page for that bet — its market or event page, never a slip with the selection and a stake already filled in. Nothing is ever staked or placed for you; you find the bet at the book, set your own stake and confirm it there. DawBets tries four targets in order and uses the first that exists:

1. The page the book published for that exact bet.
2. The same bet at that book, taken from the price comparison stored with the odds.
3. An event page DawBets builds itself — only a few books publish a URL shape predictable enough for that.
4. The book’s home page, so a click never dead-ends.

The button on a bet card inside DawBets can do more than this one: some books publish a link that loads the selection onto their own slip, and the button’s wording says which you are about to get. Sportsbook links covers that.

Skipping the notice next time

   The checkbox sits directly under the Continue button.

   Your choice is saved as you leave, so you only pay for it once.

   Later links go straight through

   You get a brief “Opening…” screen instead of the notice, then the sportsbook.

“This link has expired”

That screen appears when DawBets cannot produce any working address for the sportsbook in the link — the link is incomplete, or it names a book DawBets holds no link settings for. Tap Open in DawBets and you land on Explore — nothing resolved, so there is no game page to send you to — where you can find the game and read current prices.

The other common case looks different: an older short link from an earlier Claude answer still opens, but it can no longer be matched to a bet, so it lands on the book’s home page instead of the market. Ask Claude to run the search again and you will get a link that resolves properly.

Which state’s site you land on

A few books publish links pinned to one state’s version of their site, so DawBets repoints the link at your own state before opening it. For a link Claude made, that is the state saved in your DawBets settings, and it travels inside the link — so it applies to whoever opens it. When a link carries no state, DawBets falls back to the location the network edge reports, and only for visitors in the US.

When no state is known, or the book does not operate in that one, the link opens exactly as the book published it — which is why you can still land on a state picker or a geo-block belonging to the sportsbook. Sportsbook links has the fix and the reasoning: save your state in Settings.
