Why a price moved or vanished

Troubleshooting · Web & iOS · Last updated August 28, 2026

Quick answer

DawBets shows the last price we read from that sportsbook, and books move their lines continuously — so a price can change between our read and your tap. A bet leaves the feed when the game starts, when we can no longer confirm the price is current, when its edge shrinks and it slides down the ranking, or when it gets hidden. Always check the price on the book’s own slip before you confirm.

The sportsbook’s price is the one that counts

Every price on a card is the last one we read from that book. Books move their lines whenever money or information arrives, and a line can move between our read and your tap. That is normal market behaviour, not a fault — the number on the book’s slip is what you are getting.

Prices move while you are looking at them

On Plus and Pro the feed re-reads the board as soon as prices change. A bet already on your screen flashes green if it improved, red if it got worse, and prints one label saying what changed:

  • EV +1.2% — the edge itself moved. This label wins over the other two.
  • Good Bet → Strong Bet — the rating moved a rung.
  • +150 → +135 — the price at that book moved.

Small wobbles are ignored on purpose: a change has to clear a minimum before it counts as a move rather than noise. A bet that has only just entered the feed never flashes — there is nothing to compare it against.

Why a bet disappears

  • The game started. The Game status control defaults to Upcoming, so a bet drops out of the feed at kickoff. Live and All are Pro, and the server enforces that even if the control is worked around.
  • It slid down, not out. The feed is ranked by edge, biggest first. A bet whose edge shrank is further down the list, not gone. Scroll, or set a Min expected value % threshold (Plus) to cut the bottom off.
  • We stopped being able to vouch for it. Every row has to have been re-read from the book recently. One that has not been is withheld entirely rather than shown to you as though it were current.
  • It was hidden — by you, or by the auto-hide preference below.
  • Profit Boost is on. A boost re-prices the whole feed at one book, so every bet that book does not offer drops out and the rest change price, edge and badge. See Profit boosts.

Note

A bet we can no longer confirm is usually gone at the book too — the market moved or was pulled. No setting serves you the old price.

Bets vanish every time you come back from a book

That is the Hide Odds Cards preference in Settings: "Hide odds cards after you visit a sportsbook or track a bet". It fires on both, so tracking a bet also clears it. Hiding is a Plus feature — Free and signed-out feeds never hide anything. To undo:

  1. 1

    Look just above the cards

A line reading N hidden · Show all appears whenever something in your current feed is hidden. Tap it to bring them back.

  2. 2

    Or turn it off

Settings → Hide Odds Cards. Hides you made yourself, by swiping a card or using the card menu, also come back through Show all.

On iOS: On iPhone a hide lasts for the session only: you get an undo toast straight after, and relaunching the app clears every hide. There is no running hidden count — once you have hidden every bet, the empty state offers Show hidden bets. On the web, hides are saved to your account until you tap Show all.

When the whole feed is empty

The feed says four different things, and they mean four different things:

What you seeWhat it meansWhat to do
No +EV bets right nowThe board came back with nothing at all — no filter is on, and nothing is broken.Nothing. Short feeds are an honest outcome, not a fault.
No bets match your filtersYour filters are narrower than the board.Tap Adjust filters and widen or clear them.
All bets hiddenEverything currently loaded has been hidden.Tap Show all.
Fetching the latest dataWe could not confirm the prices are live, so nothing is shown.Leave the page open — it retries on its own — or press Retry.

The last one matters most: when prices cannot be verified as current, DawBets shows nothing rather than dressing old prices up as live. It is not a filter or account problem.

On Free, the board changes in blocks

Signed out or on Free, you are served a previous snapshot of the board rather than the live one. It rotates as a whole, so several bets change at once and a price you are looking at may already have moved at the book. Refreshing more often will not make it newer. Plus and Pro read the live board — Why your feed says delayed sets out what that changes, tier by tier.

What to do when a price has moved

  1. 1

Read the slip before you confirm

The book’s own slip is authoritative. If the price there is worse than the fair price shown on the card, the edge is gone — close the slip.

  2. 2

    Check the other books

Tap the price row on the card to open the compare sheet: every book that has this bet, best price first, with each other book labelled by how much less profit it pays. Signed out, a card carries one book only — sign in to see the rest.

  3. 3

    Do not chase it

A line that has moved past fair is not a smaller edge — it is a negative one. Taking it anyway undoes the reason you were shown the bet.

Bet responsibly

Sports betting is 21+ and legal only in some states. Chasing a moved line is how a disciplined approach turns into an undisciplined one — an edge is not income, and no bet here is safe. If betting has stopped being fun, read our responsible-gambling resources.

Common questions

The sportsbook shows a worse price than the app. Is the app wrong?

No — it was right when we last read that book. Lines move between reads, and the book’s live price is always the one that counts. Check it on the slip before confirming, and skip the bet if it is now worse than the fair price on the card.

Where did all my bets go?

Check for a "N hidden · Show all" line above the cards, whether Game status is still on Upcoming, and whether a filter is active. "Fetching the latest data" is different — that means we could not confirm prices are live, not that you filtered them out.

Why did the EV on a bet change?

Because the book moved its price, or the sharp benchmark we price against moved. Edge is the gap between the two, so either side moving changes it. On Plus and Pro the card flashes and prints the change the moment we see it.

Why do bets disappear right after I visit a sportsbook?

The **Hide Odds Cards** preference clears bets you were just sent to — and bets you tracked — so you do not see the same one twice. Turn it off in Settings, or tap **Show all** on the feed to restore them.

Can I get the old price back?

No. DawBets does not hold prices or place bets — we only report what each book is offering right now. Once a book moves a line, that price is no longer available anywhere, including through us.
