Sportsbook links: what the button opens

What the button actually does

Every bet card ends in a button pointing at the sportsbook holding that price. Tapping it leaves DawBets and opens that book, either in your browser or in its own app. What is waiting for you there depends on one thing: whether the book publishes a link to that exact selection. When it does, the bet is loaded. When it does not, you land on the book and have to find the bet yourself.

DawBets never places, funds or confirms a wager. Everything after the handoff happens in your own account at your own sportsbook — you set the stake and you press the book’s own confirm button.

Read the button, not the logo

The wording follows the link that was actually served, so a button never claims a slip when there is no bet link behind it. There are three things it can say:

Which bets have a loaded link

Bet links come from the odds feed, one address for phones and one for computers, and they arrive per price rather than per book. The same sportsbook can hand over a loaded slip for one market and nothing at all for the next, so a button that said Add to slip yesterday can honestly say Open today.

A few books publish no bet-level links at all — Polymarket US is the documented case, and its button always reads Open. Where links do exist, DawBets picks whichever of the two stored addresses suits your screen and falls back to the other rather than giving you nothing, which is why a laptop can legitimately be handed the phone link — it reaches the same bet.

Whether the book’s app opens is up to your phone

The links DawBets sends are ordinary https:// web addresses, not app-only links. Your phone opens the sportsbook’s native app when the book has registered that web address with iOS or Android and you have the app installed. Otherwise the address opens in a browser. There is no DawBets setting for this — installing or removing the book’s app is what changes it.

Set your state, or links can land on a geo-block

A few of the big national books hand DawBets links pinned to one fixed jurisdiction — whichever one the odds feed captured them in. Left alone, those links drop an out-of-state bettor on a geo-block or a state picker, so DawBets rewrites the state in the address before opening it.

   Go to Settings and scroll to the My Sportsbooks card.

   The state selector sits at the top of that card. It does two jobs: it filters which books are shown, and it decides where your bet links open.

   The choice saves as soon as you make it, and the next link you tap uses it.

Signed out on the feed means no bet links

On the bet feed, Bet Check and game pages, bet-specific links are only served to signed-in accounts. If every button suddenly reads Open followed by a book name, the likeliest explanation is an expired session — sign in again and the loaded links come back. A shared bet page is the exception. It carries its bet link for whoever opens it, account or not — a share is usually read by someone who has never signed in, so stripping the link would leave them nothing to act on.
