Place your first +EV bet

Quick answer
Open the Bet Feed and start at the top card — it carries the biggest edge on the board. Tap its button to open that bet at the sportsbook holding the price, check the price on the book's own slip before you confirm, place it at the stake shown, then tap Track when you come back so DawBets grades it for you.
Before you place anything
DawBets never takes a bet or holds money. It finds prices the books have got wrong and tells you which book is offering one — you place the bet yourself. Four things to have ready:
- A sportsbook account you can actually bet at. Sports betting is 21+ and legal only in some states — check yours first.
- Your state. Set it under Settings → My Sportsbooks — it decides which books are offered to you and where a bet link opens. Leave it blank and a link can land you on another state's version of the book.
- The books you hold, ticked in that same section. Your selection seeds the feed's sportsbook filter on a clean visit, so you stop scrolling past prices you cannot bet.
- A bankroll. Set it under Settings → My Wager Sizing; every suggested stake is a fraction of it. Wager sizing and tracking are Plus features, but a new account starts on a trial of the top tier, so both are open from day one.
Read the card before you tap it
The Bet Feed is one list ranked by the size of the edge, biggest first — nothing else moves a bet up it, not popularity, not the league, not recency. So the top card is the biggest edge we can currently see.
Every number on that card describes a price you can get right now: the badge and EV Edge for the size of the edge, Fair for what the bet is genuinely worth, the book and its price underneath, and a suggested stake. Reading a bet card takes each of them apart. Note the Fair price before you leave — it is what tells you whether the book’s number is still worth taking once you get there.
A badge rates the price, not the outcome — the strongest one on the board still loses regularly. What the badges mean covers the rungs and why some bets carry none.
Place it at your sportsbook
- 1
Tap the blue button on the card
It reads Add to slip when the book gave us a link to that exact selection. When it can only reach a market page, or nothing better than the book's home page, the button says so instead of claiming a slip was loaded — what the button opens.
- 2
Check the price on the book's own slip
The book's number is the one that counts. Lines move constantly, and a price can change between our last read and your tap. If it moved your way, good. If it moved past the fair price shown on the card, the edge is gone — close the tab.
- 3
Stake what the card says, not what you feel
The suggested amount is a fraction of your bankroll scaled to the edge, halved on player props. Betting bigger because a bet "looks good" is the quickest way to undo a real edge. See how we size your wager.
- 4
Confirm it at the book
DawBets never places a wager or holds your money. The bet exists only at your sportsbook, and that is where it pays.
The card is a snapshot; the slip is the truth
Never confirm without reading the price on the slip. We can only report what the book has published, and a price that has moved past fair is not a smaller edge — it is no edge.
Track it so it grades itself
Back in DawBets, tap Track on the same card. The Track Bet sheet opens with the card's price and suggested stake filled in — change Odds and Wager to what you actually got, because that record, not the card, is what gets graded. Whole dollars and whole American odds only, with toggles for a profit boost and a free bet. DawBets then settles it automatically after the game ends and files it in My Bets.
Let it ask you instead
Turn on Prompt Bet Tracking under Settings → My Preferences — it is off until you do. The Track Bet sheet then appears by itself when you come back from the sportsbook, as long as you come straight back.
On iOS: On iPhone the placement button reads Bet at plus the book name, and the bookmark Track button sits beside Parlay in the same row — Share is in the card's overflow menu, not the row. The sheet and the grading are identical.
What one bet tells you
Nothing, and that is the honest answer. A positive edge is a claim about hundreds of bets, not about tonight's. My Bets is where a real answer accumulates: your record, and your closing-line value — whether the price you took beat where the market finished. That signal appears long before profit does, which is why we grade it.
Bet responsibly
Sports betting is 21+ and legal only in some states. An edge is not income and no bet is safe — never stake money you need. If betting has stopped being fun, our responsible-gambling resources are here.
Common questions
How do I place a bet on DawBets?
You place it at your own sportsbook. DawBets shows which book has the mispriced line and hands you off to it — tap the button on the bet card, confirm the price on the book's slip, and bet there. We never take a bet or hold your money.
I am brand new. Where do I start?
Set your state and your books in Settings, open the Bet Feed, and work down from the top card — it carries the biggest edge on the board. Place one bet at the stake shown, track it, and read My Bets after a few days.
Do I have to bet the amount it suggests?
No. It is a suggestion sized from your bankroll and risk tolerance, and you can stake what you like. Betting far more than the number throws away the reason the edge was worth having in the first place.
The odds at the book do not match the app. Now what?
Treat the book's price as the real one. If it still beats the fair price shown on the card, the bet is fine; if it does not, skip it. Either way, track the bet at the odds you actually got, not the ones the card showed.
Do I have to track the bet?
No, but an untracked bet is invisible to us: no automatic settlement, no record, no closing-line value. Tracking is one tap on the card plus a confirm, and it is what turns a pile of bets into an answer about whether you are ahead.
