What data DawBets stores about you

Quick answer
DawBets stores your email, your saved preferences, the bets you track and your boost presets, plus a payment reference so it knows which plan to unlock. It never sees your card number or your plaintext password, never sells your data, and never shares your bets with sportsbooks.
What you give us when you sign up
- Your email address, and — if you signed up with a password — a one-way cryptographic hash of that password. The plaintext is never stored and cannot be recovered from the hash.
- If you signed in with Google or X, whatever profile that provider shares with us, typically a name and email address. No password exists on the account at all.
- Your timezone, read from your browser as you finish signing up, so scheduled emails land at a sensible local hour.
What you create while using DawBets
Everything below is attached to your account and readable only by it — the database enforces that with row-level policies, not just app code.
- Tracked bets — the selection, market, book, price, stake and outcome of each bet you log.
- Preferences — your sportsbooks, favourite teams, state, odds format, risk tolerance, bankroll and typical bet size.
- Boost builder presets — the named builder configurations you save.
- Feedback you send through Send Feedback, so we can reply to it.
On the web: Browser push is not switched on yet — Settings still lists Push Notifications as "Coming Soon" — so no browser push subscription is stored for you today.
On iOS: The iPhone app stores the APNs device token Apple issues so alerts can reach the device, and short-lived tokens for any Live Activity you start. It also mints an anonymous install id on the device for its own funnel counting. There is no advertising identifier: the app declares no tracking, which is why iOS never shows you an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Payments: we never see your card
On the web, Stripe collects and holds your card details end to end. All that lands on your DawBets profile is a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status, which is how the app knows what to unlock. Buy a subscription inside the iPhone app and Apple plays the same role — we keep only the transaction and product identifiers Apple hands back, plus the status and expiry date that go with them. Cookies, analytics and what stays on your device
DawBets sets a small number of first-party cookies and no advertising or third-party tracking cookies:

Separately, your browser keeps things locally that never reach us on their own: your parlay selections, bet feed filters, Bet Check history, recently used markets, recent searches and favourite teams from the command palette, and onboarding progress. Clearing site data clears all of it.
Product analytics run through PostHog. Verified in the code today: autocapture is off, so events are page views and the ones the app names deliberately, plus a few automatic signals — leaving a page, uncaught errors, and clicks that land on nothing; your browser's Do Not Track setting is honoured automatically; and session replay is off unless it has been enabled for your group, with every input field masked and password and email fields masked explicitly.

The policy still says analytics receive "a hashed user identifier and tier — never your email". That line is out of date. What actually happens: once you sign in, the app identifies you to PostHog by your account id and attaches your email, plan, subscription status, state, risk tolerance and odds format as profile properties. Trust this article over that sentence, and email team@dawbets.com if you want analytics opt-out beyond Do Not Track.

What we never do — and what other people can see
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising — subscriptions are the only revenue, as how DawBets makes money sets out.
- Your tracked bets, bankroll and preferences are never shared with sportsbooks, or with anyone else for marketing.
- We never store your card number, and we never hold or move money — you bet at your own books.
The exceptions are deliberate, and there are two. Sharing a bet creates a public page that anyone with the link can open. It carries the selection, market, teams, book, price and edge — and nothing about you. The public endpoint serves an allow-listed set of columns, so your stake and your account id are never part of it.
The other is the Ideas board: an idea you post there is visible to every signed-in DawBets user, bylined with your first name and last initial — or with the part of your email before the @, if we hold no name for you.
Getting a copy, or getting it deleted
There is no self-serve data export in the product. Email team@dawbets.com from the address on your account and ask for a copy. Deletion, and what survives it, is covered in Delete or export your data. The full text of what we collect is in the Privacy Policy.
Common questions
Does DawBets sell my personal information?
No. Your data is not sold and is not used for advertising, and your tracked bets and preferences are never shared with sportsbooks or any third party for marketing.
Does DawBets store my credit card details?
No. Cards are collected and held by Stripe, or by Apple for App Store purchases. We store only a customer reference and your subscription status, so the app knows which plan to unlock.
How do I opt out of product analytics?
Turn on Do Not Track in your browser — the analytics client honours it automatically. For anything beyond that, email team@dawbets.com and ask; there is no in-app opt-out switch today.
Can other people see my tracked bets?
Not unless you share one. Bets are readable only by your own account, enforced in the database. Sharing a bet deliberately creates a public link — anyone holding that URL can open it, though it shows no stake and nothing identifying you.
What cookies does DawBets use?
Your sign-in session, your theme, cached plan and access level, referral and marketing attribution, a few display preferences, and — only if you asked for it — the opt-out for the leaving-DawBets screen. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
